MORTON – Christopher M. "Chris" Bessmer, 67, of Morton, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born on March 28, 1957, in Sugar Creek, Missouri, to Roger and Corinne (Martin) Bessmer. Chris married Linda Tobias on October 10, 2015, in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Surviving are his wife, Linda Bessmer of Morton; children, Halley (fiancé, Malcolm McFarland) Bessmer of Liberty, Mo. and Corbin Bessmer of Independence, Mo.; granddaughters, Lilyenn McFarland and Alena McFarland, both of Liberty, Mo.; his four legged child, Emma. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Patricia Tobias, Joan Hostetler and Judy Hunt, all of Morton and Janet Gidcumb of Phoenix, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, mother and father in-law and two brothers-in-law.. Chris worked for various Caterpillar dealerships. He raced modified cars at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Missouri for several years. Chris was heavily involved with Boy Scouts
