MORTON – Lori Greiner Grover, 46, of Morton, passed away peacefully June 12, 2024, at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago after winning the battle against leukemia, but ultimately succumbing to complications. She was born on April 17, 1978, in Peoria, to LeRoy and Elizabeth Karen (Ross) Greiner.
Lori graduated from Morton High School in 1996, where she was an integral part of three IHSA class AA State trophies (1994, 1995, and 1996) as a four-year varsity starting short stop. She was named the 1996 Peoria Journal Star Player of the Year and was twice selected to Mid-Illini All Conference first team, the Peoria Journal Star All-Area team, the Chicago Tribune All-State team, and the IHSA All-Tournament team. When Lori graduated in 1996, she held five season softball records.
She would always say "remember your HAT" (Hard work, Attitude, Team). Lori carried this attitude into college and life.
She continued her softball career at Southern Illinois University where she started 216 of 222 gam
