MORTON – Terry L. Metzger, 80, of Morton, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on March 5, 1944, in Decatur, Ill., to Laurence and Loretta (Bogue) Metzger. Terry married Connie Clark on February 11, 1966, in Decatur, Ill. Terry is survived by his wife, Connie; his children, Rob (Anne) Metzger, Christy Metzger (Shane) and Dave (Katy) Metzger; his grandchildren, Kyle, Brian, Kevin, Danny, Maddie, Zoe, Savanah, Kinley and Liam; his brother, Larry (Deanna) Metzger; his sister, Elaine Dresback and his beloved dog, Sophie. He was preceded in death by one son, Anthony and one brother, Dale. Terry spent the bulk of his career at Caterpillar and retired after 33 years in 2002. In retirement, he was an avid golfer, runner and sports enthusiast. He loved watching Fighting Illini basketball and the Chicago Cubs, and was so pleased when they won the World Series in 2016.
