Michael J. Krokum, 67, of Chillicothe, died peacefully with his son and daughter-in-law at his side, at 8:55 a.m., Friday, August. 9, 2024, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born August 24,1956, in Devil's Lake, N.D., to Marvin and Marjorie Krokum. He married Karen Miller in 1983, in Peoria. He later married Janis Stone Pruitt in 1995. She preceded him in death, as did his parents; and sister, Margaret Schwartzenberger.
Surviving are his son, Ben (Sarah) Krokum of Chillicothe; grandsons, Timothy Krokum and Elliott Krokum of Chillicothe; stepsons, Cody Pruitt and Clint Pruitt; and sister, Marlene (Dana) Salisbury of Devil's Lake, N.D.
He was employed at several companies in the Peoria area, last working at Parker, before retiring in 2015.
He enjoyed spending time with family, especially time outdoors with his grandsons, Tim and Elliott. His hobbies included reading, photography and caring for his pets.
