MORTON – Stephen J. Forret, 60, of Morton, passed away surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on June 11, 1964, in DeWitt, Iowa to Jim and Velma (Smith) Forret. Stephen married Anne Harper on August 7, 1987, in Rock Island, Illinois. Surviving are his wife, Anne Forret of Morton; daughter, Amy (Jason) Ulbricht of Morton; son, Nathan (Nina) Forret of Indianapolis, Indiana; granddaughter, Gianna Ulbricht; brother, Jeff (Sharon) Forret; and sisters, Deb Braverman, Barb (Steve) Pethoud, Karen (Alan) Harder and Monica Forret and Joseph "Doc" McCaffrey. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, David Forret and brother-in-law, Mark Braverman. Steve graduated from Calamus High School in Calamus, Iowa.
