Robert "Bob" Shepard II, 80, of Metamora, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at his home. He was born in Evanston on June 6, 1944, to Robert and Pauline (Hefner) Shepard. He married Marilyn (Bessler) Sales in East Peoria on August 20, 1993; she survives.
He is also survived by his children, Robert M. "Robb" Shepard III of Noblesville, IN, Randy (Sherri) Shepard of Camargo, Nathan (Tina Kaniasty) Sales of Waterford, WI, Nicholas "Nick" (Jena) Sales of Brevard, NC, and Sarah (Kirk) Lashley of Evanston; his sister, Madge (Greg) White of Peoria; and his 4 grandchildren, Seth, Trent and Ivy Sales and Trinity Lashley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Nicholson.
Bob proudly served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, then worked as a laborer at Caterpillar, retiring in 2000.
Bob was an active member of Metamora Mennonite Church and volunteered with the Mennonite Disaster Service. The 12 Steps were a foundation of his life. He was dedicated to h
