MORTON – Matthew R. Trew, 39, of Morton, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on November 16, 1984, in Peoria, to Robert and Cynthia (Tallyn) Trew. Surviving are his parents, Robert and Cyndi Trew of Morton; siblings, Carissa (Reid) Emerson of Pekin, David Trew of Bartonville and Dan Trew of Chicago; and his nieces and nephews, Dashiell Emerson, Gwendolyn Trew, Amelia Trew and Eleanor Trew. Matt graduated from ISU with a degree in business administration. He enjoyed playing soccer, baseball, golf and singing Christian music. Matt was an avid History buff specializing in World War II. He worked for State Farm Insurance as an IT analyst. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Pastor Keith Thibo officiating.
