PEORIA HEIGHTS – Mark Hildebrand, 56, of Peoria Heights, formerly of Morton, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at his home. He was born on September 18,1968, in Peoria, to Douglas and Shirley (Rumold) Hildebrand. Surviving are his sister, Leah (Chris) Hughs of Cumming, Georgia; niece, Madelyn Hughs and nephew, Tyler Hughs. He is preceded in death by his parents. Mark was a United States Marine Corps veteran who led an adventurous life. Those adventures began when he spent his junior year of high school in Germany as a foreign exchange student. While there, he traveled all over Europe and enjoyed the freedom of living abroad. When he returned to the states, he attended the University of Illinois in the NROTC program. Upon graduation in 1991, he began his service as an officer in the Marine Corps. After serving 8 years of active duty, he joined the Marine Reserves. In 2006, he was deployed to Iraq.
