Ruth Jeanelle Roberts, 87, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Snyder Village in Metamora.
She was born September 7, 1937 in Russellville, Alabama to the late William Claude and Mattie (Gandy) Hines. She married Dellas Vernon Roberts in Peoria on March 28, 1959. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1998. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Marvin, Herman, Albert, and Tiny Hines and three sisters; Mildred Martin, Elsie Wilson, and Polly Shaner.
Surviving are two children, Daniel (Christy) Roberts and Kathy (Pete) List; five grandchildren, Ashley Slevin, Andrew Roberts, Matthew (Taylor) List, Peter List, Jessica List; three great-grandchildren, Maddyson, Daniel, and Ian List; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeanelle worked in the banking industry for 40 years, retiring from PNC as a Vice President.
She was a devout Christian and a longtime member of Paris Avenue Church of Christ in Peoria. She held various bible studies in her home.
